Vision to Action Statements
IEP21 is working with teams of religious and spiritual leaders, scholars, and activists representing 12 major religious communities (Baha'i. Buddhist, Christian, Confucian, Hindu, Indigenous, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Taoist, and Zoroastrian). Each team will develop and then circulate within its respective community a "vision to action" statement. Each statement sets forth that community's vision of the world as it might be, its assessment of the world as it is today, the problems that are most urgent, and the steps its members must take to address those issues and to make the community's vision a reality. The overarching themes that shape the statements are peace, justice, and ecological sustainability.
The Vision to Action Statements provide an essential platform on which to build cooperative engagement between religious communities and secular institutions and organizations in addressing the most critical issues of our time. Four statements have been completed (available in HTML and PDF format):
